Alameda County Class of 2008 Requalification Requirements

Those who do not fulfill the requirements listed below will be placed on inactive status for a period of nine months. During this time of inactive status your contact information will NOT appear on any promotional materials, websites, or databases. You may be reinstated if you re-qualify within nine months of your qualified expiration. After that time, your status will be suspended and you must retake the training in order to be re-qualified. 

If you do not apply for re-qualification:

- Your Bay-Friendly Qualified professional status will first change to inactive and then become suspended.

- Your contact information will be removed from the BFL Qualified Professional listings.

 

REQUIREMENT #1: 

You take and pass the 2010 final exam between March 2 and March 31, 2010

We are offering you many opportunities to take the exam:

a. You can take the test in person on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 3:30 at the StopWaste.Org offices in Oakland.

 - OR -

b. You can schedule one of the following two-hour windows of time during which we will email you the final exam for you to complete and email back to us by the end of the time slot you have selected. On each date listed below you may select from an exam period starting at 10am, 11am, Noon, 1pm and 2pm.

REQUIREMENT #2:

You let us know, by March 31, 2010, how it is going by either:

• Completing a short on-line survey about the Bay-Friendly practices that you have been using on the job.
  
   - OR -
• 
  Filling out the survey in hard copy form and sending it back to us.

The information you provide us in the survey will be kept confidential.  It is our way of learning what Bay-Friendly practices you are implementing, how you are benefiting from the training and what we can do better.  It also helps us make the case to potential funding sources that the training is worth their investment!

Please let us know if you would like to complete this survey in hard copy lori@bayfriendlycoalition.org and she will send you the survey.

REQUIREMENT #3: 

Provide evidence, by March 31, 2010 that you have received 4 hours of education or training on any topic within sustainable or Bay-Friendly Landscaping. 

a. Irrigation auditing classes/workshops

b. Workshops on building healthy soil

c. Attendance at annual trade shows or conference (ex. Bioneers, West Coast Green, etc)

d. Others that you have attended – send a copy of the agenda and evidence of your participation to lori@bayfriendlycoalition.org.

You are responsible for keeping track of earned CEUs and must provide verification of attendance from the instructor or educational institution.

REQUIREMENT #4: 

Submit requalification payment of $50.

This re-qualification application fee covers ongoing administrative costs.
