Bay-Friendly Landscape Maintenance Training & Qualification Program
Requalification Requirements
The Bay-Friendly Landscape Maintenance Training & Qualification Program began in 2007 and has qualified over 300 landscape professionals in three counties. For contact information on Bay-Friendly Qualified Landscape Professionals, click here.
Bay-Friendly Qualification status is valid for two years. In order for the program to maintain strong credibility in the marketplace and ensure that qualified professionals are current with the latest advances in sustainable landscape design, re-qualification is required every other year.
Those who do not fulfill the requirements listed below will be placed on inactive status for a period of nine months. During this time of inactive status your contact information will NOT appear on any promotional materials, websites, or databases. You may be reinstated if you re-qualify within nine months of your qualified expiration. After that time, your status will be suspended and you must retake the training in order to be re-qualified.
If you do not apply for re-qualification:
- Your Bay-Friendly Qualified professional status will first change to inactive and then become suspended.
- Your contact information will be removed from the BFL Qualified Professional listing.
Everyone interested in re-qualifying for another two years must fulfill the following requirements:
REQUIREMENT #1:
You take and pass an exam 25 months after being
originally qualified.
To help you prepare, practice questions will be e-mailed to you as soon as they are available.
Many of the practice questions are the same or similar to questions you had to answer while taking the class.
REQUIREMENT #2:
You let us know how the Bay-Friendly approach to managing landscapes is going for you:
Complete a short on-line survey about the Bay-Friendly practices that you have been using on the job BFQL requalification survey.
The information you provide us in the survey will be kept confidential. It is our way of learning what Bay-Friendly practices you are implementing, how you are benefiting from the training and what we can do better. It also helps us make the case to potential funding sources that the training is worth their investment!
Contact lori@bayfriendlycoaltion.org to request the link or a hard copy of the survey to complete.
